    1. If your running KODI on an Android box, then you can just run this app. Otherwise not possible.

  2. Thankyou!! After TV Four was cancelled I have been looking for a way to play the children's shows and now I can! To Unknown above, to install from USB drive, download ES File Explorer from Play Store, KODI didn't want to install the apk file without ES File Explorer app.
    Thanks again!

    1. No sorry. TVNZ and 3Now are pretty "locked down". lot of DRM and encrypted contents. I tried for quite a while to find a work around to make a Kodi add-on but no joy :(

    2. Possibly look into Chromecast? The raspberry pi might be able to receive chromecast. Then you can use an Android device to send the video to it. Using my unlocked app, it now supports Chromecast. Or, look for a cheap Chromecast receiver on 1-day or something like that.

  4. I guess its not native chromecast, just screen mirroring?

Wondering how you did this, could you provide more info?

    This is awesome

    1. Hi.
The IP address location is checked server side unfortunately so no way to bypass this via the app.
You will need to use a VPN or Smart DNS so it thinks your in New Zealand

    1. Not sure sorry. Looking at their playstore reviews, there are heaps of issues with the app :(
For me, it doesn't play any videos - only live.

    1. I have now fixed this in v2.7.1.
Re-download the APK from above and try :)
It now forces the app to think your using WIFI (allows for ethernet etc)

    1. Great to hear. I have found the latest version of their app is much more stable. I used to always get "this video isn't available". Same on the Three app. So, looks like they both have made some good changes (about time)

  10. Hey Matt. Great work on the TVNZ app. If only TVNZ were as forward thinking as you are! Do you think that the APK could be modified to be more compatible with Android TV?

    1. Not really. That's quite a big job and up-to them really.
You will need to use some sort of mouse in the meantime :)

    2. I may attempt to add basic keyboard navigation though (which will work with controllers. eg. shield controller)

    3. Basic keyboard nav would be awesome. I too have the Nvidia Shield. I can use the app with the Shield game controller, but it doesn't really work with the tv remote. TVNZ are bloody useless and should just do an Android TV app already. Thanks for all your great work!

    1. That's just a problem with their app unfortunately.
Lots of reviews on Google Play about it.
